 On this page we are collecting ideas related to WikiPDB. Please feel free to contribute to the Planed semantic checker plug-ins and Other Ideas section, it is strongly recommended though, that you discuss ideas on the discussion page

[edit] Basic Features

  • Full file version control with fork, and fork merging support
  • Strict syntax checking
  • Bond length checking
  • extended pdb format, which is mostly backward compatible with the original pdb format

[edit] Planed semantic checker plug-ins

  • Database reference checking (Find "broken links")
  • Check if amino acid sequence is consistent with the atoms listed (Presently under development)

[edit] Other Ideas

  • PyMol loader
    This would be a pymol plug-in that allows users to browse/search WikiPDB from within PyMol, and load files automatically
  • WikiPDB Notifier
    A small gadget/task bar application that notifies users about changes on watched pages. (Instead of sending E-mails.)
  • User scores
    Based on contributions users are rewarded by scores.
  • Automated feedback system
    Human confirmed errors, and possible corrections are going to be sent directly to RCSB PDB, so that corrections made here make their way back to the official PDB.
